The Chinese company launches a revolutionary ceiling light so powerful that it can illuminate like a street lamp and creates almost no shadows The Chinese company Xiaomi designs all kinds of household items through its sub-brand Mijia. They range from appliances to furniture and all kinds of products. And smart lighting with the Chinese company’s new lamp is also part of the catalogue. But the new Mijia ceiling light set out to create something that is, on the one hand, pure style and, on the other, pure power. Because the Mijia Diffuse Reflection Ceiling Light illuminates as much as a street lamp on a public road.
Xiaomi has designed a domestic light that casts almost no shadows
With its circular shape, the Mijia Diffuse Reflection Ceiling Light differs from other lights created by Xiaomi. This is due to its extremely modernist design, forming a hollow halo. The key to the device is the enormous margin of illuminated space that it can cover up to 170º, something it achieves through its design.
This new ceiling lamp from Xiaomi incorporates a diffuse reflection architecture that distributes light evenly across the ceiling, walls and floor. Its design balances the lighting environment and reduces harsh shadows, creating a more natural visual experience than traditional lamps that emit light downwards.
This lamp has a dual light source arrangement located above and below the luminaire. Equipped with 550 customised full-spectrum LED pearls, the ceiling lamp significantly reduces the contrast between bright and dark areas to prevent visual fatigue.
The 10,000-lumen Xiaomi lamp illuminates as much as a street lamp. According to the Chinese company, this configuration allows the lighting field to have ‘almost no shadows under the light,’ making it ‘suitable for living spaces where it is essential to maintain clear vision.’

The maximum power of 10,000 lumens allows for ‘efficient lighting of rooms up to 20 square metres’. In fact, in tests carried out by Xiaomi, a 16 m² room achieved an average illuminance of 569 lx, which positions the product as an ideal solution for bedrooms, study rooms, children’s rooms and compact flats.
Interestingly, 10,000 lumens is basically equivalent to an 800W incandescent bulb and a LED bulb between 130W and 250W. The average power of a common LED street lamp ranges from 30W to 60W for residential areas, shopping centres and streets, and over 100W for bridges and motorways, so this Xiaomi light has more than enough power for a 20 m² room, without a doubt.
Can be configured with your mobile phone
Fully compatible with Xiaomi HyperConnect, the lamp can be configured from your mobile phone, including:
- Customised activation lighting.
- Sleep routines.
- Predefined settings specific to each mood.
- One-click night light mode and specific profiles for reading, relaxing and concentrating on work.
The lamp is already on sale in China for 1,899 yuan. For now, it is only available in China, but it may soon expand to Europe and America.
